Violet Snow is a versatile writer, skilled at digging out the essence of a story and expressing it clearly and concisely, whether it’s an article on the fate of our recycled trash, a blog about visiting Andersonville Prison, or a memoir of traveling through India.

 

A post in the New YorkTimes "Disunion" blog concerns her ancestor's Civil War diaryShe writes for the Woodstock Times in upstate New York and other periodicals, including Civil War TimesEnergy Times, Upstate House, and others.

Areas of special interest include:

  • family history and genealogy
  • environmental issues, especially alternative energy and climate change;
  • nature, including plant and tree identification, wild edibles, animal tracking and primitive skills.
